Centrestreet Animal Hospital

To Our Valued Clients,

SPRING HAS SPROUTED EARLY,
which means once again it’s that time of year for your pet to be protected from the potential threats that this season may bring. All dogs
and cats are susceptible to contracting parasitic disease in spring and summer, including, but not limited to, heartworm and fleas.

Annual Wellness Testing involves evaluating blood which can be obtained when collecting your pet’s heartworm sample. Organ function and blood counts can be evaluated depending on the wellness test you choose. Many indicators of disease can be detected including abnormalities of kidney, liver, heart, thyroid and pancreatic function. The test results will also remain in your pet’s file to be used as a baseline for comparison with future wellness tests or blood work in the event of injury or illness. Please consider that in each calendar year our pet’s age is on average 4-7 ‘human’ years, making annual blood screens all the more essential.

Keep Your Pets Safe

Preventive medications protect your pet by preventing the maturation of any heartworms that your pet may have been infected with.
Our Hospital recommends Revolution as the most medically advanced protection. Oral heartworm alternatives are available if needed in some cases.

Other preventative measures include:

* Dental Care

* Physical Exams

* Blood Testing

* Nutrition

* Urine testing

* Vaccinations

* Spay/Neuter

Wellness testing can identify the early signs of disease before signs become evident during regular physical exams.

LASER THERAPY HAS ARRIVED!!

We are very happy to introduce our latest therapy equipment. The latest in laser technology, this class IV laser therapy unit is a perfect complement to our surgical laser unit which we acquired almost 6 years ago.

Laser therapy is a far more sophisticated
and advanced form of pain management system than ultrasound therapy. It is used very effectively to help treat and manage, without side effects, arthritis, back pain,
skin wounds, post surgical incisions, physical rehabilitation, and most conditions involving pain, inflammation and swelling.

We are one of the few hospitals in Ontario offering this technology, as we are committed to ensuring our patients are offered the best medicine available.

Don’t forget to join us again this year for our Annual WALKATHON!

This year it will be held on
Saturday, June 12th, 2010

in support of the OVC Pet Trust Fund
for their Cancer Research Division.
